SHOT BLASTING

Capacity: We offer shot blasting for items up to 2.5m x 2m x 1.5m with both walk in and hand cabinet facilities. Blasting media available includes chilled iron grit, steel shot, glass bead and aluminium oxide.

Aluminium Oxide: Aluminium oxide is available in both the walk in facilities up to 2.5m x 2m x 1.5m as well as the hand cabinets and is ideal for soft metals, stainless steels and other applications where ferrous materials are not suitable due to corrosion or associated magnetisation.

Chilled Iron Grit: Blasting with chilled iron grit is ideal for removing existing coatings and burn off residue as well as providing a good key for painting. Chilled iron grit is also ideal for cleaning welds and removing sand and runners from castings as well as the etching of structural steel and components prior to coating. Chilled iron grit is available in our hand cabinets for surface treatment to SA 2.5 standards.

Steel Shot: Steel shot is ideal for both cleaning and peening. Shot peening is available in our hand cabinets.

Glass Bead: Glass bead blasting is available in a dedicated hand cabinet and is ideal for peening, texturing or the removal of surface blemishes. Glass bead poses no risk of corrosion or magnetisation and does not alter the surface dimensions of the component being cleaned.
